| Is Restylane®/Perlane® safe? |
| Yes, Restylane®/Perlane® has a long
record of success. There have been more than one million
treatments carried out in more than 60 countries around
the world. It can be used immediately without the need
for a skin test. |
| How does Restylane®/Perlane® work? |
| After administration the hyaluronic gel binds water to it to produce natural volume which smooths away the wrinkles. |
| How long does a Restylane®/Perlane® treatment
take? |
| About 10 minutes or longer depending on the quantity of product necessary to achieve the desired result. |
| Does it hurt? |
| A local anaesthetic cream can be applied and certainly for the more sensitive areas local anaesthesia is given if there are no contraindications. |
| Are there any side-effects? |
| Side effects are rare and if they do occur they are temporary. |
| Allergic reactions are very rare. |
| Common injection related reactions may occur such as swelling redness and tenderness. These resolve spontaneously within 1-2 days, or within a week if lips are treated. |
| Some people with very fine skin could have a slight bruise. |

| What happens next? |
| The results are immediately visible and look their best approximately two weeks later. An after treatment facial may be beneficial. Cheshire Images can advise on this. It is recommended that top-up treatments are received before the effects of the initial treatment have faded totally. |
